Weyburn Regional Economic Development is always looking for ways to bring investors and developers to Weyburn. A lot of research has to be done before an investor decides on a location.

"Currently, we're in the final stages of a valuable guide to the Weyburn retail market that's going to stand up to those demanding requests that we get from potential investors," says Twila Walkeden, Executive Director for Weyburn Regional Economic Development. "Key pieces of data from the Census 2016, the National Spending Survey and City of Weyburn traffic counts are being taken into consideration as well as consumption patterns in our community."

The hope is that this guide will put Weyburn at the forefront of investors minds as all of the research is already laid out for them. The guide will be available next month.

Another tool WRED is working on, is an online resource called "Townfolio." It is located on both the city's website and the WRED website.

"This resource will provide a comprehensive economic profile of Weyburn and surrounding area that is very easily interpreted," says Walkeden. "Data ranging from levels of taxation to housing stats for our community can be found on this site, this is a game changer for economic development."

These items will make it easy for anyone in need of this information to access it.
