A pair of Weyburn motocross riders were in Brandon on the weekend at the Central Canadian Amateur Nationals. Dylan Honig and Trey Griffin were looking to represent the Opportunity City, and they came away with some strong rides.

Honig finished fourth in the 250 intermediate and 5th place in the open intermediate. He followed that up with a 10th-place finish in the ProAm race.

Griffin placed 3rd in the 250 intermediate and 4th in the open intermediate class. He then finished fifth in the ProAm class on a 450.

The event held this past weekend doesn’t count towards the point standings for the Saskatchewan Motorsport Association. In the standings, Honig is currently 1st in the MX1 Intermediate, second in the MX2 Intermediate and second in the MX3 Intermediate. Griffin is 2nd in the MX1 Intermediate, third in the MX2 Intermediate and second in the MX 3 Intermediate.

Weyburn’s Ryder Zackrisson is first in the MX2 Intermediate and MX3 Intermediate.

The next event on the Saskatchewan Motorsport Association calendar is on July 16th and 17th, with races being held in Virden, Manitoba.
