Two of Weyburn’s U18 hockey teams were in action Wednesday night. The U18 AAA Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Gold Wings were at home against the Notre Dame Hounds, while the U18 AA John Hulbert Construction Wings were on the road in Regina to take on the Vics.
At Crescent Point Place, the Gold Wings would finish the first period knotted up 1-1 with the Hounds thanks to a goal from Julia Durr, but then the visitors exploded for five goals in the second period, en route to a 6-2 victory.
The other goal for Weyburn, coming in the third period, was scored by Kiah Shields.
In Regina, the U18 AA Wing would put 53 shots on goal, while Ryder Dunn stopped all 24 shots he faced en route to a 5-0 win over the Vics.
Carter Gervais had a pair of goals, while Silas Stein had a goal and two assists. Also scoring for Weyburn was Carson Palmer and Ryder Fellner. Connor McIndoe and Morgan Lacoste added two assists as well.
