The Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop hosted its annual general meeting last Thursday digitally. While the group would normally meet in person, much like many other events in this current situation the group had to meet digitally via the Zoom platform. Thursday's meeting was short and sweet, only covering a few key topics in a short, business-like manner.

"Basically what we did was take care of business. Our year-end is March 31st, so we're a little bit behind where we wanted to be," said the Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop's Executive Director, Jeff Richards. "We went through our financial statements and talked about the year that was. It was a pretty eventful year."

Richards says they had initially planned to do their AGM earlier last month but ended up falling behind and needed to get caught up before hosting the meeting. Thursday's meeting itself focused mostly on covering more of the business-related topics as there are plans to host another meeting in the near future to discuss goals moving into the new year.

"It'll start off in the fall as we start to look ahead. We have to get back to business, so we're bringing in a few people participant-wise," Richards added. "Heath and safety is our foremost concern. Until we have a better handle on where this Coronavirus thing is going to lead us, we're just being terribly cautious."

Thursday night's meeting saw their audit presented, as well as their financial documents being approved by the board of directors. As well, social services were there to ask any questions of the auditor, to which there were none. Richards says the meeting ran smoothly and very business-like in a short and sweet manner.
