What to do with your yard waste, which can not be burned

If you like to rake the leaves and roll in the pile, you probably mean to also bag those up when you (or your kids) are done having fun.

Bagging up the yard waste is the right thing to do, according to the City of Weyburn bylaw. It's also ready to go to either the landfill for free compost disposal, or it can be put into your Goliath refuse collection bin.

It's illegal to burn those leaves, and the only twigs that can be burned are those dry enough to be kindling. In fact, Weyburn Fire and Police recently investigated the cause of a triggered smoke alarm at Legion Towers, and it turned out to be a nearby resident burning leaves.
