Roseline Elizabeth Wheeler, beloved wife of Mr. Gerald James Wheeler of Saskatoon, passed away at the Royal University Hospital on May 28, 2023 at the age of 79 years. She was the loving mother to Shelley (Darryle) Stephanson of Saskatoon, SK., Wade (Darla) Wheeler of Cochrane, AB., Brad (Carrie) Wheeler of Weyburn, SK., and Melissa (Bruce) Innes of Calgary, AB. She will also be lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Tyler (Savon) Stephanson, Stacey Stephanson, Marcus (Brittany) Stephanson, Alyssa Wheeler (Alex), Madison Wheeler (Jordan), Caitlyn Wheeler (Brett), Catherine (James) Hebert and Rebecca Innes; great-grandchildren, Thary, Ayane, Raiden, Dominic, Kierstyn; siblings and their families, Delmer (Marilyn) Miller, Ralph Miller (Susan Triolet), Virgil (Mary-Jo) Miller, Laverne (Laurey) Miller, Allan (Gale) Miller, Helen Meyers; as well as many other extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Hubert and Josephine Miller.

Rose was born in Humboldt, SK. in 1943 at the local hospital. She started school in Middle Lake, SK. until the Miller family moved to a farm near Mistatim, SK. Rose continued school there until the family moved to Estevan, SK. She finished school in Estevan graduating from Estevan Collegiate Institute. After school she took a waitressing job at B&B Drive-In, where she met the man of her dreams, Jerry (Gerald) James Wheeler. True love was inevitable and they married in Estevan in 1961. They had three children, Shelley, Wade and Brad, and lived in an 8’x 35’ trailer. There are great photos of those days. A few moves later, they ended up in Oxbow, SK. and child number four, Melissa, was born. Moves took them many places with memories made in each place: Virden, Weyburn (farm), Weyburn (a couple houses), Red Deer, Airdrie, Humboldt and Saskatoon (2 houses). Through all of these moves, Rose was always happy, loving and enjoyed all the moments. She wasn’t just a loving wife and mother, she worked in many vocations at McCoys Drugs, Waddells, The Bay, Rexall in Red Deer and best of all, the gift store they jointly owned with Doris Kovachs in Weyburn. All of these locations created friends for Rose and memories for the family. The gift store was a labour of love for Rose and Jerry and the family has many treasures from that store to remember her by. Rose and Jerry were inseparable for their almost 62 years of marriage. Rose was a kind, thoughtful and unselfish person, who always put others first. She loved her husband, kids, and greatly enjoyed nurturing and watching all of the grandchildren grow. She will be dearly missed by all of us who had the privilege of receiving her love throughout the years.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (210 Wess Road, Saskatoon, SK). Memorial donations in Rose’s honour may be made directly to a charity of the donor’s choice.
