Those who want to try a new game can 'hurry hard' down to the new location for Crokicurl in Weyburn, in front of the Sun Room at the Weyburn Leisure Centre.
Crokicurl is a combination of the sport of curling and the disk flicking game, crokinole. The rink looks like a crokinole board, and it features curling rocks the City of Weyburn acquired last winter from a grant through the South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District.
The curling rocks are located in a yellow bin on site, as are the rules for use, which is on a first-come, first-served basis.
"We encourage users to put the rocks back in the bin after each game; rocks will melt the ice if left on for too long," the City advised in a recent press release.
open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A shovel is also available to clear off any snow.
The Crokicurl rink is the result of a partnership between the City of Weyburn, the Weyburn Agricultural Society, and the Weyburn Curling Club.
