Osage Recreation Centre is having some fun this winter, with upcoming activities this Saturday, such as a Poker derby, and a Curl-A-Race.

Registration for the Poker derby takes place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $10 per hand, and anyone interested can contact Jordan at 306-722-7654.

Curling teams can register for the Curl-A-Race by contacting Garry at 306-722-7451. The cost is $80 per team.

The ham Supper takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and costs $20 for adults, $15 for kids under 12, and is free for preschoolers. A raffle is taking place after supper.

“All proceeds are going towards the community Rec Center in Osage to help keep it open and help maintain it,” Osage Treasurer Nikita Shanaida said. “Because of COVID for the past two years, we haven't been able to do anything with all of that fun stuff.”

Shanaida said that they normally have this event every year.

“It is a yearly thing and a bunch of people from like Fillmore and stuff always come and show their support.”

People have been showing interest already, and a few curling teams have registered for the Curl-A-Race.

“We're just hoping we can have more, 'cause if we do have more teams then we can push it maybe into Sunday.”

She added they have had to extend it in previous years.
