The City of Weyburn is planning on some work at the water treatment plant today, as they continue the transition over to the new reservoir, and some new treatment facilities.

The work will mean a temporary shutdown of the water treatment plant Tuesday morning, and another short shutdown in the afternoon. The water services won’t be interrupted by the shutdown, as treated water is still available via the reservoir. However, to reduce the burden on the system, the City of Weyburn is asking residents to limit their water usage during the two shutdowns.

The first shutdown will be at 8:00 a.m., for roughly 2 ½ hours. The second shutdown will be at 5:00 p.m. for approximately 10 minutes.

In the unlikely event the water services are interrupted, the City of Weyburn will immediately update the public of any possible precautionary drinking water advisories.
