The Weyburn Police Service responded to 75 calls for service last week, resulting in 27 charges. 

Officers responded to a domestic dispute on Monday. Police say when they arrived, they found an irate man who was involved in an altercation with 2 adult females.  According to police the man was uncooperative and was ultimately arrested and charged with two counts of assault, and two counts of failing to comply with a condition of his release. He was released with an upcoming court date.   

Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and 6th Street northeast on Wednesday. No major injuries were reported, and one of the drivers is facing a charge under the Traffic Safety Act for disobeying a stop sign.  

An arrest warrant has been authorized after an alleged domestic assault on Sunday. A woman contacted the police reporting a violent domestic assault that happened to her during the previous several hours. She had fled her residence where the assault occurred and contacted police from a local gas station.  

Police attended immediately and located the woman, who was transported to the Weyburn General Hospital for further treatment. She suffered significant injuries that were not life-threatening.   

The male suspect was nowhere to be found but a warrant for his arrest has been authorized. He faces several criminal charges including forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, mischief to property, and three counts of failing to comply with a condition of his release.
