Last week was average for the Weyburn Police Service, with 89 calls for service resulting in 10 charges. Five charges were laid under the Criminal Code of Canada, three under the Traffic Safety Act, and two under the City of Weyburn bylaw. 

Late Tuesday morning, a traffic stop was initiated in front of the Weyburn Leisure Centre. A No Contact or Communication order was discovered. Subsequently the male passenger was arrested for breaching his probation order. He was taken to the police station for processing and was released. He is to appear in court in June.  

Between Monday, April 4 and Sunday April 10, a storage business on 12th Street had a number of storage lockers broken into. Anyone that has any information on these incidents is asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service at 306-848-3250. 

On the evening of Thursday, April 7, police conducted a traffic stop on Coteau Avenue. The female driver exhibited signs of impairment, and failed an alcohol screening device test. She was issued a 3-day license suspension after being administered a breathalyzer test. 

The following evening, another 3-day license suspension was issued, and a vehicle was impounded. The driver conducted an illegal U-turn and was pulled over in the area of 5th Avenue and King Street. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana previously and the officer performed a Standard Field Sobriety Test which the driver failed, and was issued a 3-day suspension.
