The Weyburn Comprehensive School's Entrepreneurship 30 class has started Cloud 9 Blanket Co., a junior achievement company.

Grade 12 students Dalton Molnar, and with Danica Rodenbush, Vice-President of Human Resources, recently visited the Discover Weyburn studios to share on their business.

"Our team strives to warm communities one blanket at a time, and especially with this cold weather we are having, what better comfort than a blanket from your friends at Cloud 9 Blanket Co.," shared Rodenbush.

"Ten percent of our proceeds go directly to The Family Place."

"We sell customized throw-style blankets, prices range from small to large prints. Small prints start at $25 and large prints start at $30. Our blankets are classic throw-style, so 50 x 60 inches. Our idea arose from the impact COVID has taken on us throughout these past few years. We decided that we wanted to bring comfort to the community," shared Molnar.

He explained where their idea came from and the success they have had with orders so far.

"Originally the idea came around that we wanted to do kind of like a handmade crafted blanket, and then we came up with the idea of enjoying your comfort your own way. It kind of spiraled around a bit until we came up with the idea of heat-pressing images onto blankets."

"We're currently standing at about 100 orders coming in, and about 40 have gone out the door so far to mostly local businesses like Nexans and Re/Max, but we do both company orders and personal individual orders as well."

If you are looking to place an order, they explain that January 11th is the cut-off date for orders to be sent in because their semester ends at the end of January.

"We are currently taking orders and you can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter at Cloud 9 Blanket Co. Pre-order forms can be found there with all the information and how to order. We also have an online Shopify website as well."

What a great opportunity to support local students at WCS and to stay warm this winter season!
