Radville town office nears completion
Just over a year ago, the town of Radville lost its town office, town shop and firehall in a fire. Since then, work has been underway to rebuild, with support coming from across the entire province. “I would say, 75, 80 percent complete,” said the town’s administrator, Amanda Walter. “We will be in the officer, hopefully, by June.” The work has been clipping along, with mainly finishing touches left, such as the cabinets, the ton on the rook, and a little concrete work, Walter added. The work on the town office isn’t the only work that is happening in the bustling community of 800 southwest of Weyburn. Work has been underway on a new pool, among other projects. “The pool house is up,” Walter noted. “The construction on that is done. They’re doing some final things on the inside of that as well as the exterior.” There is also work happening at the Radville-Laurier Regional Park, and the rec centre itself will also be having some work done, including a new Zamboni room and renovations to the dressing rooms. Walter added that some businesses in the community are expanding as well. “It’s a busy place, I’m not going to lie,” Walter said. “There’s not very much time for downtime in this office by any means.”
