The Weyburn Volleyball 15U Rush head into their final weekend of the season at Volleyball Canada 15U West Nationals in Regina, SK. Ninety-six teams from BC, AB, SK and MB will embark on Regina this May 19-22 to vie for the Championship.

After their Silver Medal performance at Sask Volleyball Provincials April 29-30, they confirmed their 2nd in Saskatchewan ranking. This finish equates a 7th in Western Canada ranking, going into West Nationals. They look to continue a friendly rivalry and meet JSD Volleyball Club of Swift Current in power pools, or hopefully the finalHead Coach Luke Guest says that attending Nationals will be a new experience both for him in his 10 years of coaching, and for his players; as this is their first time playing on this level.

"This weekend will be a learning experience for all of us, but realistically it's great because we'll be playing against all new teams. It's tough to compare ourselves, but it is going to come down to who competes at their best this weekend for a medal. In my opinion, a Top 15 finish for our team would be a great accomplishment."

Coach Guest also notes "it's been a long season for us, we're going on 6 months of practicing and playing and we're fighting a few injuries. But that's no excuse, we'll have to play hard, hurt or not, and regardless of who is in the lineup. Monday will be a big day of the tournament, if you win some important games you can finish up top."

The Rush start off the weekend Saturday, May 20 in the "AM Wave" of games in Division 1 hosted at Evraz Place. Their Pool includes the Dinos Volleyball Club(Calgary, AB, ranked 4th in AB), Selkirk Royals (Selkirk, MB ranked 4th in MB), and East Kootenay Volleyball Club (Cranbrook, BC ranked 10th in AB).
