The Borderline Fastball League wrapped up the regular season Sunday, and a pair of Weyburn teams were in action.

The Weyburn White Lightning wrapped up first overall in the standings, with a 14-3 win over Ceylon. Meanwhile, the Weyburn Shehawks dropped their final game of the regular season to Fillmore and finished second overall.

The Borderline Fastball playoffs begin Wednesday, It culminates in a tournament on Sunday at Tom Laing Park.

The junior Par Contracting A’s in Regina Sunday for a doubleheader against the Regina Angels, and they came away with two wins.

Carver Krafchuk went the distance in the first game, as the A’s picked up an 18-13 win. In the second game, Brandon Hutt and the rest of the A’s only needed to put in six innings of work, as they topped the Angels 18-4.

Two out of three ain’t bad for the Southeast Midget AAA Twins. They had three home games on the weekend and came away with wins in two of those.

Friday, they fell 9-7 to the Regina White Sox. Saturday, they hosted the Northwest Prairie Pirates for a doubleheader at Lynn Prime Park in Estevan.

In the first game, Brett MacMurchy went the distance on the mound as the Twins won 4-1. The second game saw Ryan Gaab strike out nine in a complete-game win, giving up one run in a 3-1 victory.

The Bantam AAA Beavers wrapped up their regular season Sunday in Regina. Already with first place wrapped up for the regular season, they put the icing on the cake, beating the Pacers 7-3.

The Beavers get an automatic bye for the first round of the playoffs. They will meet a to-be-determined opponent in the semi-finals.

The Pee Wee AA Century 21 Hometown Realty Beavers were in Melville for a tournament on the weekend. They began play in the tournament Friday. They didn’t get the start they wanted, falling to the Saskatoon A’s 12-6 in the first game, and 11-8 to the Regina White Sox in the second game.

Saturday, they beat the Carnduff Astros 15-8 and lost a tough one to the Muenster Red Sox 12-11 in the final inning. Sunday, they beat the Humboldt Dodgers 10-0, winning the Consolation.
