The Bantam A Knight Didge Wings split a pair of games this weekend at home this weekend. With a win and a loss, their record on the season improving to 2-3-1, two points back of the Regina Tigers for first place in the league.

Saturday, the Regina Royals were in town. The treatment they received was anything but royal, though, as the Wings beat them 3-2. The Visitors would score the first goal of the game with the lone goal of the first period. The Wings would dominate the second, however.

Karsten Geiger opened the scoring for the Wings just 1:08 into the middle frame, with Zach Schmidt and Jett Grohn assisting. The Wings would then make it 2-1 as Connor McDonald found the back of the net. Schmidt picked up an assist on the goal, as did Evan Barsness. It would be 3-1 by the end of the frame, as Darien Herlick scored assisted by Brandon Klein and McDonald.

The Royals would add a goal early in the third period, but were unable to score the equalizer.

Sunday, the Regina Buffaloes were the opposition for the Wings. This time, the game would go in favour of the visitors, as they skated to a 9-1 win. The lone goal for the Wings was from Schmidt in the second period.

The next game for the Wings will be Friday. They head up to Regina to take on the first place Tigers.
