The Bantam AA Whitecap Resource Wings leapfrogged Estevan in the SAAHL standings Tuesday night, after beating the Bruins at Crescent Point Place with a 6-3 final. The win now has the Wings in second place in the South Division, two points back of Prairie Storm.

The Wings were led by Ryker Watt, who notched five points including a hat trick in the win. Cooper Walbaum helped out with four points of his own. Dylan Ernst stood tall in the net, turning away 30 shots for the victory.

The Wings opened the scoring in the first period when Watt found the back of the net with 8:25 left to play. Daxin Peterson and Walbaum assisted on the tally. Walbaum then scored an unassisted goal of his own just over a minute later. Peterson then made it 3-0 with just over four minutes remaining in the first, assisted by Watt and Quinn Mantei.

Estevan would respond to the flurry of offence from Weyburn with a goal from Mason Kukura in the dying seconds of the period. The Bruins would then open the second with a goal from Mason Fichter just past the three-minute mark, making it 3-2. It would prove to be the closest the Bruins would get to evening up the game, as Weyburn again took over.

Watt scored his second of the night just under two minutes after the Fichter marker. Walbaum was credited with the assist on the goal which made it 4-2. Watt then finished off the hat trick with another goal just before the halfway mark of the second, assisted by Paterson and Walbaum.

The Bruins scored one more goal in the third period, a power-play marker from Colby Cuddington at the 3:48 mark. Weyburn would get the last laugh, and the last goal, though, as Dallen Oxelgren scored with 7:34 left on the clock, assisted by Wyatt Godlonton and Ryker Watt.

The Wings are now gearing up for a road trip which opens Friday. They travel to Nipawin to take on the Northeast Wolfpack. Saturday they are in Humboldt to face the Bantam Broncos, and Sunday they play the Warman Wildcats.
