It was a big night for the Weyburn Bantam AA Crescent Point Energy Wings, as they routed the visiting Notre Dame Hounds 7-3 Tuesday night. The win improves Weyburn’s record to 3-11-1-1 on the season.

The Wings didn’t waste any time in jumping out to an early lead. Rylan Erb, Cooper Walbaum, and Parker Douglas all scored within 3:30 of each other in the first period as Weyburn went up 3-0.

Notre Dame did try to rally back, as Oleh Dehtiarov and Zander Lunnie scored before the end of the opening frame. The Wings though would be relentless, especially with the man advantage.

Jake Young scored to restore a two-goal margin before the five-minute mark of the first period. Nathan Croteau would make it a 4-3 game, but it would be as close as the Hounds would get, as three power play goals would help Weyburn pull away.

Tanner Rowland would scored with the man advantage, assisted by Andrew Altwasser and Parker Douglas, with just over five minutes remaining in the second period. Rylan Erb would then score late in the third period on the power play, for his second of the night. Ty Boren closed out the scoring for the Wings, assisted by Cooper Chisholm and Sawyer Kopec.

The Wings are now off to Prince Albert. They open a tournament there Thursday morning.
