The Weyburn Beavers wrapped up a three-game home stand with a two and one record, after handing the Swift Current 57’s an 8-5 loss Sunday afternoon. The 57’s had won the game Saturday between the two teams, 3-2.

The Beavers were powered by the bats of Zach Frazier and Carlos Flores. Frazier had a solo home run, and Flores added to the Beavers lead in the fifth with a monstrous three-run shot to left-center field. Cam Williams batted in two runs himself, while Josh Trybuch had one RBI.

On the mound, Garrett Waters struck out three over seven innings, giving up five earned runs. Cody Pamperin and Eric Evans closed out the game, with Evans being credited with the save, his second of the season.

The Beavers have now improved to 6-3 on the season, and are a half game back of Regina for first in the East Division of the WMBL. Weyburn will be looking to close that game Monday when they travel to Swift Current for their third game against the 57’s in as many days. The Beavers return home Wednesday to take on Brooks.
