The Weyburn Beavers kicked off their annual Alberta road swing Thursday night. They were in Edmonton to play the Prospects. The Beavers would come up just short, falling 7-5. The loss drops the Beavers to 12-10 on the season, three games back of Regina for first in the East Division.

The Prospects had jumped out to an early 5-1 lead before Weyburn rallied back to tie the game up. Two late runs from Edmonton, though, would give them the victory.

Luis Jimenez had three RBI for the Beavers in the loss, Ulysses Fluellen went 3-for-3 at the plate while scoring two runs.

The two teams will play again tonight in Edmonton before the Beavers head up to Fort McMurray for two games.
