Two teams in the Big Six Hockey League displayed an impressive offensive performance on Tuesday night.

The high-octane offence from the Bienfait Coalers plowed through the Arcola/Kisbey Combines with a 14-1 victory at Prairie Place. Elsewhere, the Redvers Rockets used a quick start to zoom past the Oxbow Huskies 7-3 at the Oxbow Memorial Arena.

BIENFAIT'S OFFENSIVE ASSAULT ON THE BIG SIX CONTINUES

Bienfait entered action as the top scoring team in the Big Six, already scoring 96 goals in their first 13 games. On the other end of the spectrum, Arcola/Kisbey had given up the most goals in the Big Six surrendering 97 goals in their first 14 games.

On Tuesday, both those trends not only continued...but increased.

The Coalers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening period, only to increase the lead to 11-1 after two periods. Bienfait added three more markers in the 3rd period for a 14-1 final, outshooting Arcola/Kisbey 63-25 in the game. The Coalers have scored 14 goals in both games against the Combines this season (14-3 on December 10th).

The usual suspects led the way in scoring for Bienfait as Payden Benning (14,15,16) registered a hat trick, while Dylan Herzberg (4,5), Dallas Kickley (9, 10), Wyatt Garagan (15,16), and Keegan Malaryk (9, 10) each scored twice. Kyle Garagan (5), Hunter Piche (7) and Brennan Wrigley (6) chipped in goals as well. For Arcola/Kisbey, Rhett Palmer (6) scored the lone goal of the game.

The win puts Bienfait (9-5-0) into a tie with the Midale Mustangs (9-5-0) for 5th overall in the league standings, just two points behind the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings (9-4-2). Arcola/Kisbey (1-14)-0 remains with just two points on the year, and a single point behind the Carlyle Cougars (1-14-1) for the 8th and final playoff spot.

Bienfait has eclipsed the century-mark for goals scored (110) in just 14 games. Last season, the Wawota Flyers led the league in team scoring with 106 goals in a 20-game season.

REDVERS REGAINS 2ND OVERALL WITH CONVINCING WIN IN OXBOW

The Redvers Rockets completed a season-sweep of the Oxbow Huskies on Tuesday night. After registering wins of 11-3 and 4-2 over the Huskies already this season, the Rockets jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the 1st period, with Jordon Miller (10), Brady Gaudet (7) and Drew Hoff (9) finding the back of the net. Redvers extended the lead to 4-0 after 40 minutes when Dakota Rose scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season.

Jarvis Ducharme (3), Dereck Wilson (1) and Brady Fidierchuk (3) helped cement the victory with goals in the 3rd period for Redvers. Meanwhile, the league's top duo of Taysen Holt (2G, 1A) and Derek Cooney (1G, 2A) added to their tremendous offensive season in the final period for Oxbow to end the game in a 7-3 final score.

Holt (33 points) and Cooney (32 points) are in 1st and 3rd overall in league scoring respectively, with Carnduff's Matt Audette (33 points) tied with Holt for the Big Six scoring lead.

The win leapfrogs Redvers (11-5-0) over the Wawota Flyers (9-2-3) for 2nd overall in the league standings.

However, the Flyers will have the chance to return the favour as they host the Carlyle Cougars on Wednesday night.
