The Redvers Rockets took the lead in their best-of-five Big Six quarterfinal series with the Wawota Flyers Tuesday night. They topped the Flyers 4-1 and jumped to a 2-1 series lead.

The Flyers were the first to get on the board in the game, which was played in Redvers. Just 4:47 into the first period, Rob West, captain of the Wawota squad, beat Thomas Bauche on the power play. The goal was assisted by Dylan Lamontagne.

From there, the Rockets would take over the game.

The home team opened the second period scoring with a goal from Koltyn Miller with 8:21 remaining. It was assisted by Dakota Rose and Jordon Miller. Then, four minutes later, Drew Hoff scored with assists to Brady Gaudet and Remi Lamotte.

In the third period, the Rockets opened the lead to two goals thanks to Rose, who scored a goal of his own. He was assisted by Travis Poirier and Lamotte. The scoring on the night was then finished off by Gaudet with just seconds remaining. The helpers on the goal were credited to Todd Gervais and Hoff.

The series returns to Wawota for game four on Thursday. If Redvers picks up the win, they will take the series and advance to the semifinals against Carnduff. A Wawota win will mean game five to be played Sunday night in Redvers.
