The Toronto Blue Jays dropped a 7-2 decision to the Boston Red Sox Tuesday night. With the win, the Red Sox officially became the first team in MLB to clinch a playoff spot.

Chris Sale got the win on the mound for the Red Sox. Coming off the disabled list, he pitched a single inning, striking out two. He allowed one hit and also hit a batter.

Former Blue Jay Steve Pearce hit an RBI triple in the seventh inning, which kicked off Boston’s offence. Brock Holt’s home run then broke the tie as the Red Sox poured on the runs.

The two teams meet again Wednesday night at Fenway Park to continue their series. You can catch all the action on Saskatchewan’s Home of Blue Jays Baseball, AM1190.
