It was a game of mistakes for the Estevan Bruins, and a dramatic one at the worst time cost them the victory.

Kenzie Arnold scored a shorthanded goal in overtime to lift the Nipawin Hawks to a 4-3 road win over Estevan in front of a packed house at Affinity Place. Brandan Arnold also scored and Logan Casavant added a pair of his own. Hayden Guilderson answered twice for the Bruins, and Zach Goberis also scored.

It took just over a period for Guilderson to break the ice, taking a pass down low at the goal line and walking out of the corner, tucking one past Declan Hobbs. The lead lasted almost the entire period before Jake Fletcher was stripped of the puck with just over 20 seconds to go in the middle frame, allowing Brandan Arnold to walk in and rip one top corner.

The Bruins seemed unfazed and built up a two-goal lead. First, Goberis broke in with Miller on a two-on-two. Miller cut to the middle, forcing the Hawks defenders to cross over each other, whereupon Miller threaded the needle to Goberis, who snuck it past Hobbs.

Then, Guilderson snuck in down the right-hand side, carrying the puck wide to the circle and rifling a shot short-side past Hobbs. The Bruins forward celebrated his eleventh point of the playoffs and brought Affinity Place to a state of euphoria.

That joy soon turned to bitter disappointment, however. Casavant scored twice in the third period, both times on the power play and once, a back-breaker, with just 3.9 seconds left.

Overtime passed with tense moments at both ends, including a 1:09 5-on-3 for the Hawks that the Bruins were able to kill off. But with the Bruins on a man-advantage of their own, the puck came back to Jake Tesarowski at the point. Tesarowski's skate hit a rut, and he went down, allowing Kenzie Arnold his try on a shorthanded break. Arnold made no mistake, winning the game for Nipawin.

With the loss, Estevan now trails the series 2-1. Game four goes on Wednesday, April 18, at Affinity Place.
