It was a busy day for football in Weyburn Saturday, with three teams taking the field. The day started with the U12 Ravens taking on the Estevan Chargers on the Weyburn Minor Football Field. Then, the attention shifted over the Darold Kot Field as the Weyburn Comprehensive School Eagles entertained the Yorkton Regional School Raiders. The day capped off with a rematch of Week 1 on the schedule as the U14 Falcons played the Yorkton Gridders.

In the early game, the Ravens were up against a tough team from Estevan. The Chargers would prove to be a tough opponent, however, coming away with a 50-12 victory.

After the unveiling of the new scoreboard at Darold Kot Field, the action kicked off between the Eagles and the Raiders. The Eagles, playing their first game since the fall of 2019, would come out on top, picking up a 10-9 victory.

The final game of the day was a rematch of last week, as the Yorkton Gridders travelled to Weyburn to avenge their Week 1 loss. The Falcons, though, had other plans, as they came away with a 37-0 victory over the Gridders, improving to 2-0 on the season.

Next weekend, all three teams will be on the road. Friday, the WCS Eagles will take on the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs, starting at 7:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, the U12 Ravens play the Chargers in Estevan in a rematch of this past weekend’s game, and the U14 Falcons take on the Swift Current Steelers in Swift Current.
