A relatively quiet night in the Western Canadian Baseball League Tuesday, with just three games on the schedule.

The Yorkton Cardinals were on the road, playing the 57s in Swift Current. The Cardinals were looking for just their third win of the season, while Swift Current was hoping to gain ground on Weyburn and Regina in the Eastern Division standings.

It would be the 57s who would prevail, putting up a 9-0 victory.

Alex Stinnett hit a home run for the 57s, while Tanner Holen had two RBI and a triple. Jack Large, Kiel Krumwiede and Toby Allred also drove in runs in the victory. Swift Current’s pitching staff limited the Cardinals to just three hits. Starting pitcher Logan Garza was actually perfect through the first five innings before he was pulled in favour of Finnegan Duffield, who surrendered two hits.

The Moose Jaw Miller Express continued their road swing in Alberta, taking on the Edmonton Prospects.

Moose Jaw was hoping to bounce back from a 12-2 loss on Canada Day, and move back to the .500 mark.

The Prospects would hold the lead for much of the game, taking a 4-1 lead into the seventh inning. The Miller Express would then turn things around and scored three runs in the seventh, and two more in the ninth for a 6-4 win.

Geordie McDougall led the way for Moose Jaw with two RBI. On the mound, Michael Ross earned the win. He pitched the final two outs of the eighth inning, striking out one. Jack Gamba earned the save.

The third game of the night saw the Weyburn Beavers fall 8-4 to the Okotoks Dawgs.
