The home team has won every game in the semi-final series between the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings and the Bienfait Coalers. The Coalers used home ice to their advantage Saturday night, as they skated to a 5-3 win over the Wheat Kings to force a fifth and decisive game five in their semi-final series.

The Coalers had a three-point performance from Wyatt Garagan in the win, as they went 2-for-7 on the power play in the win. Yellow Grass also had some help from special teams, with two of their three goals coming while enjoying a man advantage.

The Wheat Kings were the first on the board when Devin Cobbold scored at the 11:05 mark of the first period. The power play marker was assisted by Thomas Carleton and Braden Mellon.

Bienfait struck back just over a minute later, as Dallas Kickley scored a power-play marker of his own. He was assisted on the tally by Blaine Herzberg and Preston Erickson.

Yellow Grass regained the lead in the second period as Brad Riege got the puck past Zack Miller just before the halfway mark of the game. Drew Fellner picked up the assist on the goal. The lead would again be short-lived, though.

Bienfait again tied the game up with Erickson scoring on the power play. The goal was assisted by Dylan Herzberg and Garagan. Then, in the third period, the Coalers took the lead as Dylan Herzberg scored a goal of his own, again assisted by Garagan.

Yellow Grass pushed, and was able to tie the game back up at 3-3 with just over five minutes to play in the third period. Kyle Mryglod scored an unassisted marker.

The Coalers were able to regain the lead with just under three minutes to play, though. Jason Hengen beat Tanner Erickson to make it 4-3 for the home team. Kickley and Blaine Herzberg assisted on the goal.

Garagan would add an empty-netter with 1:24 left to play to put the game out of reach.

Game five of the series is Monday night. It will be played in Yellow Grass, with the puck dropping at 8:00 p.m.
