Francisco Liriano and three relievers combined to help the Toronto Blue Jays hold the Boston Red Sox off the board, as Toronto picked up a 3-0 win Wednesday night. The win is just the second at home so far this season for the Jays.

The win, which saw the crew on the mound hold Boston to six hits, snapped a four game winning streak for the Red Sox. Liriano allowed four hits and a walk in 5 ⅓ innings work, while Joe Biagini retired all five of the batters he faced. Jason Grilli and Roberto Osuna each pitched an inning to close out the game.

All three runs for the Jays came in the second inning, as Darwin Barney drove in two runs with a single, followed by another RBI single from Ezequiel Carrera to score Barney.

The Jays are still looking for some of the big guns on offense to jump up, as they were held quiet once again last night. Jose Bautista is still looking for his first home run of the year, while Russell Martin and Devon travis are both sitting around the .100 mark at the plate.

Injuries to key parts of the lineup haven’t helped the Jays with their recent struggles either. Josh Donaldson is still out of the lineup with a calf injury, and Aaron Sanchez and J.A. Happ are also on the disabled list.

The two teams will meet again tonight at the Rogers Centre in the rubber match of their three game set. Marco Estrada will be looking to pick up his first win on the mound for the Jays, while the Red Sox reply with Chris Sale. The first pitch is at 5:07 p.m. You can catch all the action on Saskatchewan’s Home of Blue Jays Baseball, AM1190, starting with the pregame show at 5:00 p.m.
