Graham DeLaet wrapped up the opening round of the Quicken Loans National with a 1-over 71 Thursday. Making his first-ever appearance at the tournament, played in Potomac, Maryland, the Weyburn native flirted with par all day long.

He shot a bogey on the par-4 eighth hole, with his second shot missing the green. Once he finished his approach, he was able to quickly make the two putts, but still recorded the bogey.

On the 14th, DeLaet hammered his drive over three hundred yards to the green on the par-4. Sitting just over 18 feet from the hole, he two-putted his way to a birdie. The time at even par for the day would be short-lived, though, as he shot a bogey on the par-3 17th when his tee shot found the rough.

DeLaet entered the second round at 1-over and tied for 50th. He was six strokes back of the leaders.
