Graham DeLaet is in good shape after his first round at the Greenbrier Classic in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. He fired off a 6-under 64 in the opening round, which had him heading to the clubhouse Thursday with a share of second place.

DeLaet put himself in good shape with a birdie on the par-3 third hole. He followed it up with a birdie on the ninth after his approach shot found itself just two feet from the pin.

After the turn, DeLaet really turned up his game. On the 11th, another approach shot put him just a few feet from the hole, starting off a run of three consecutive birdies. On the 12th hole, after finding a bunker just to the left of the green, but he was able to score a birdie on the hole. On 13, a long putt from 23 feet out gave him his third birdie in a row. He finished up the back nine with a birdie on 16, then two consecutive pars.

DeLaet will tee off in the second round at 11:10 a.m. Saskatchewan time, starting on the back nine.
