The midget AA Streamline Wings kept pace with the Yorkton Terriers Thursday night, as the two teams skated to a 2-2 finish in Yorkton. The Wings are still five points back of Yorkton for first in the South Sask Midget Hockey League, and four points back of Estevan for second.

The Wings started things off with a power play goal in the first period. Mitchell McDonald scored just over six minutes into the period, with assists from Braden Birnie and Nivay Haupstein. The Terriers responded with a powerplay marker of their own a minute and a half into the second.

Tyler Shankowsky managed to get on of the 19 shots the Terriers put on Weyburn goalie Josh Dubiel into the twine, tying the game up. Weyburn would retake the lead just past the halfway point with another power play goal. Brayden Barsness scored the goal with Birnie recording his second point of the night, and Jake Roettger getting the other assist.

Yorkton would tie things up again in the third, with a power play goal, as Ashton Shewchuk scored with just over 14 minutes to go in regulation. The two teams were unable to solve the game in overtime, though, and it ended a tie.

Dubiel made 48 saves in the game, keeping the Wings in contention from start to finish. The Terriers netminder, Tyson Byman, ten of the 12 shots he faced at the other end of the ice. The Wings now prepare for a game against the Lumsden Lions on Saturday, in Lumsden. The last time the two teams met, on February 1st, ended in a 12-4 victory for the Wings.
