As the SJHL closes in on it's Christmas break it's the final big weekend on the schedule, the Weyburn Red Wings will have a pair of home games. There are just three games in the whole league between December and 17 and 27.

With the first of the final two games for the Wings before Christmas happening tonight, it's a chance for Weyburn to work past Melville and back into the final playoff spot. The Millionaires take on the division-leading Yorkton Terries this evening. The Red Wings come into this evening with a 10–18–3, which gives them 23 points. Meanwhile, the Hounds are sporting a 14–16–6 mark for 34 points.

It will be the fourth meeting of the season between the clubs, with the Wings have some success against Notre Dame this season. After a shorthanded Wings bunch fell 4–2 in Wilcox in October, Weyburn got their revenge with a weekend sweep in November — including a thrilling 3–2 come-from-behind overtime win in Moosomin.

Both teams enter play desperate for a win, with Notre Dame having won just once in their last six games, while the Red Wings have picked up three points in their last six contests.
