Weyburn’s Frankie Gawryluik is coming home from the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg with some hardware.

She won the bronze medal in the female 60kg class. She competed against wrestlers from Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Alberta, Newfoundland and Nunavut in the round robin, finishing in second place with a record of 4-1, and with a spot in the medal round. In the semi final, she faced a tough wrestler from British Columbia and lost in two rounds 4-0 on points.

Moving to the bronze medal match against Ontario, she came out on top, winning in two rounds with a 4-0 victory.

In the team competition, Saskatchewan finished second in their pool, placing them in the bronze medal match against Ontario. Team Ontario won the match, with Saskatchewan finishing fourth.
