The Midget AAA Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings were looking for revenge Sunday when they travelled up to Melville to take on the Prairie Fire for a matinee affair. The Prairie Fire had won in Weyburn Friday night.

The Prairie Fire had other plans, as they came out firing, scoring the first goal of the game just seconds into the game. The Gold Wings would press for the equalizer in what turned into a goaltenders duel between Gold Wings netminder Amara Lewendon, and Melville goalie Cheyenne Jamieson.

Lewendon stopped 35 shots for the Gold Wings, including 17 in the first period. Meanwhile, Jamieson was able to keep all 25 shots from the Gold Wings out of the back of the net.

The game had a chippy feel to it as well, with both teams combining for seven body checking penalties, and 16 power plays in total between the two teams.

They will get a chance to meet again on November 10th. They will be playing against one another for the third league game in a row in Moosomin.
