The Saskatchewan Hockey Association has released its invites to the Bantam SaskFirst Top 160 tournament in December. Eighty players born in 2004 from both the North and the South make up the teams that will take to the ice from December 28–30 in Regina.

Four players from Weyburn made the list and will represent the South. Goaltender Dylan Ernst was one of eight goaltenders selected and the only one not from Regina. In 11 appearances this season for the Weyburn Whitecap Resource Wings, Ernst has a 2.83 goals-against average and .922 save percentage.

On defence, Levi Krienke and Dallen Oxelgren both were named to the top 80 and are having strong seasons so far. Both have played in all 13 games for the Whitecap Resource Wings this season, with Oxelgren recording six points and Krienke chipping in with two assists.

Up front, Ryker Watt joins his teammates heading to Regina at the end of the month. The 14-year-old is tied for the team lead in goals (11) and points (16). His 11 goals have him tied for 11th in the league overall.

Other area players to be named to the South's Top 80 was Wilcox's Keagan Merriman, Yellow Grass' Andrew Altwasser, Assiniboia's Matt Morhart and Manor's Colby Cuddington.

The Top 80 players from both the North and South will be split into eight teams altogether, before playing in a tournament at the end of December. There is a SaskFirst follow-up tournament in February in Saskatoon, where the roster will be trimmed from 160 down to 80.
