The Midget AA Beavers played host the Lumsden Cubs on Monday at Tom Laing Park, and came away with a 6-1 win. The Cubs dominated by the pitching of Ethan Orsted, and the timely at-bats from the Beavers, along with strong base-running.

Orsted went the distance on the mound, pitching all seven innings. He struck out ten, while not giving up a walk. The Cubs did score one run on him off of three hits, but the run wasn’t earned.

Joel Niemegeers led the way at the plate with two RBI off two hits in the game. Walker Happ, Lane Schad and Nathaniel Parisien also credited with RBI in the game.

The baserunning was key for the Beavers, with Happ and Nolan Ling stealing two bases each. Niemegeers, Parisien, Schad and Jesse Schill also recorded stolen bases.

The next game for the Midget AA Beavers, who are 11-2-1 on the season, is Thursday night. They host the Regina Pacers at Tom Laing Park.
