The Midget AA Aaron Well Servicing Gold Wings continuing their strong play, picking up two wins over the visiting Parkland Fire on the weekend. With the wins, the Gold Wings are now 9-1 on the season, eight points up on the Regina rebels for first in the South Division of the SaskFHL.

Saturday, the Wings skated to a 3-0 win over the Fire.

The scoring for the Southeast team began in the first period when Bailey Farr scored a power-play goal with 10:38 left on the clock. She was assisted on the tally by Kiera Pittman.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second period, but the Wings picked things up in the third. It started with a goal from Kendra Kotylak with 10:11 left on the clock. She was assisted on the goal by Farr.

Marci Leblanc then got in on the action with a goal of her own with 1:58 remaining. Jenna Currie was credited with the assist.

Kara Zelyck made 26 saves to earn the shutout victory.

The two teams met again Sunday afternoon in Midale. Again, it would be the Gold Wings coming ou ton top, as they picked up a 3-2 win.

The Wings started things off in the first period when Leblanc found the back of the net just 15 seconds into the game. Her goal was assisted by Karleigh MacKenzie.

In the second period, Parkland found the net with a goal from Lexi Fenske, but Weyburn would bounce right back in the third.

Kaycee Mullinger would score at the 5:25 mark of the period, and then add a second goal with 8:11 remaining. Both goals were unassisted, and the second was a shorthanded tally.

The Millionaires would get one back with 1:59 left on the clock, but it would be too little too late.

The next league action for the Southeast Gold Wings will be December 15th, when they head to Swift Current.
