The Midget AA John Hulbert Construction Wings closed up their regular season Tuesday night as they entertained the Notre Dame Argos at Crescent Point Place. It would be the Argos coming out on top in the game, as they skated to a 2-1 win.

Neither team was able to score in the first period, with Notre Dame goalie Noah Cline stopping all 12 shots he faced. At the other end, Matt Dutchak was tested just four times in the opening 20 minutes of play.

In the second period, it would be Weyburn cracking the deadlock, as Baron Lawrence scored his seventh of the season with 3:41 left on the clock. It would be the only goal scored in the second period and set up a close finish for the third period.

In the third, the Argos quickly tied things up when Cody Quinney scored on the power play just 1:34 into the period. The Argos then took the lead moments later when Bryden Pow was able to get the puck past Dutchak.

The Midget AA Wings now finish the regular season sitting in sixth place for the time being. The Argos are in seventh place, just one point back, and with one game remaining on the season.

The playoffs for the SAAHL start on February 16th, with the quarterfinals to be completed by February 27th. The Wings will face either Prairie Storm, Estevan or the Regina Vics in the opening round. They will know who their opponent is by the end of the regular season on Saturday.
