With teams traveling to Swift Current for a tournament, as well as teams hosting games in Weyburn, it was a busy weekend for teams from Weyburn Minor Baseball.

The Mosquito AA Element Beavers were one of the teams in Swift Current for the tournament. They went undefeated in their first four games, setting up a showdown in the finals with the White Butte Broncos. It would be the Broncos coming out on top, though, edging Weyburn 8-7. The Mosquito AA Beavers are back in action Thursday when they travel to Regina to face the White Sox.

The Bantam AAA Beavers were also in Swift Current. The Bantam Beavers won their first game 11-0 Friday night and followed it up with a 7-2 loss to the Saskatoon A’s Saturday morning.  The Beavers bounced back Saturday afternoon, routing the Saskatoon Cardinals 10-4. The win qualified the team for the semi-finals, but they would come up short, falling 3-2 to the Five Giants. The Bantam AAA Beavers host the Regina Buffalos Tuesday at Jubilee Park.

The Southeast Midget AAA Twins were in Williston, North Dakota for a tournament on the weekend. The Twins came away with a sixth-place finish in the tournament, falling 12-3 to the Miles City (MT) Outlaws in the fifth place game.

The Midget AA Beavers had their games Saturday rained out, so they used the extra energy Sunday evening when they took on the White Butte Broncos for a doubleheader. The Beavers took the first game by a final of 12-4, with Nolan Ling going nearly the whole game for the win. In the second game, the Beavers won 11-9, as Ethan Orsted and Wyatt Arndt were credited with the win on the mound.
