The Pee Wee AA Young Fellow Wings were to play two games this weekend, a home and home against the Moose Jaw Pee Wee Warriors. Weather conditions on Saturday forced the cancellation of the first game, which was to be played in Weyburn. This left the Wings with just one game on Sunday in Moose Jaw, and it would turn into an exciting affair.

The two teams would combine for 10 goals, and skate to a 5-5- tie.

The Wings would open the scoring in the first period when Silas Stein scored at the 6:34 mark of the first period. His power play goal was assisted by Owen Istace. Weyburn would add to the lead less than two minutes later when Langston Gold found the back of the net. His goal was assisted by Carter Gervais. Gold would find the twine again just moments later, as he notched his second of the game with 9:45 left in the period. Kegan Ksenych and Carter Gervais assisted on the goal.

Moose Jaw would finally get on the board late in the first and started off the second with two quick goals of their own to tie the game 3-3. Weyburn would regain the lead with 11:45 remaining in the middle frame as Stein scored his second of the game, with Samuel Mallory assisting.

Moose Jaw wasn’t finished, yet, and tied the game up shortly after. The score was knotted up at 4-4 as the teams headed to the dressing rooms for the second intermission.

In the third period, Moose Jaw jumped out to a lead just over five minutes into the frame. Weyburn would dig deep and rally, though. Silas Stein finished off his shutout with a shorthanded goal with just seven seconds left in the third period, making it a 5-5 draw.

The Pee Wee AA Wings will be back in action on the weekend. They head to Swift Current for a tournament.
