The Pee Wee AA Young Fellow Wings played host to the Yorkton Terriers for a pair of games on the weekend. The two teams would split the games, with Weyburn winning on Saturday, and Yorkton on Sunday.

Saturday, the Wings beat the Terriers 7-5 thanks to two-goal performances by Silas Stein, Kegan Ksenych and Owen Istace. Josh Wiens earned the win in goal.

The game started with Istace scoring at the 8:13 mark of the first period, assisted by Stein and Conner Kerr. Just 20 seconds later, Stein would score a goal of his own. The tally was assisted by Kaden MacLean and Cruz Klapak. The flurry of goals would end 35 seconds after the first goal as Ksenych scored for Weyburn, assisted by Klapak.

The Terriers responded with a pair of power-play goals before the first period was over. Then, they tied the game up 3-3 with a goal early in the second period.

Brennan Brown would score for the Wings to regain the lead with 5:43 left on the clock. He was assisted on the goal by Samuel Mallory.

Weyburn added to the lead with a power-play goal of their own with just over two minutes remaining in the second period. Istace picked up his second of the game, with the goal assisted by Stein and Kerr.

Yorkton would pull back within one just 18 seconds after the Istace goal, then the margin would be restored in the final minute. Ksenych scored his second of the day, with Matt Sexsmith and Cruz Klapak assisting on the marker.

In the third period, Yorkton kept coming and pulled within one with another power play goal, their fourth of the game, with2:37 left to go in regulation.

Stein would ensure the victory with an insurance marker less than a minute later.

Sunday, the two teams would meet again at Crescent Point Place. The Terriers were looking for revenge for their defeat on Saturday. It would be a back and forth affair which literally came down to the last second of regulation as the Terriers won 5-4

Yorkton hit the ice looking to set an early tone. They did, and by the end of the first period, it would be 2-0 Yorkton.

Coming out of the dressing room for the second period, the Wings worked to pull back with the game, and did.

Ksenych scored his third goal of the weekend just 2:42 into the period. Brennan Brown assisted on the goal. Then, Mallory tied the game up five minutes later with a power-play goal. He was assisted by Ksenych and Carter Gervais.

The Wings would then take the lead in the third period when Brown scored at the 5:23 mark of the period. Klapak and Ksenych picked up the assists on the goal for the Wings.

The Terriers would tie things up moments later as the two teams traded goals back and forth through the third.

Istace restored the lead for the Wings with 7:43 on the clock as he scored a power-play goal. Then, Yorkton would again tie the game up with 2:29 left in the period. It appeared the third period would end with the teams deadlocked 4-4 until Sam Criston from Yorkton snuck the puck past J’Anne Colbow with just one second left on the clock in regulation.

The Pee Wee AA Wings will now prepare for their final regular season games of the year. They will be hosting the Melville Millionaires at Crescent Point Place this coming weekend for a pair of games.
