The off-season forges on for the Weyburn Red Wings and today they've announced another signing. Forward Brendan Kemp has committed to the team for next season.

Kemp spent all three years of his midget career with the Moose Jaw Generals and was named the captain for this past season. He also wore an 'A' last year. In his three-year career, he played 128 games and tallied 33 goals and 32 assists, to go along with 101 penalty minutes.

In his third and final year in Midget AAA, he had a career-best 14 goals and 67 penalty minutes.

"Kemp is a power forward who can play center or left wing. He has soft hands and a heavy shot. He plays a solid 200-foot game and likes to play the body," Red Wings GM Tanner McCall said. "He was dominant at Spring Camp this year scoring a number of goals."

The Craik, SK native has been an affiliate for the Red Wings the past two seasons and suited up for two home games during the 2018/2019 campaign. Kemp was selected by the Wings in the 2nd round of the 2016 SJHL Draft.

He joins an already impressive list of commits for next year, including Braden Birnie, Luke Arndt, Liam Rutten, Ross Duthie, Riley Little, Joseph Young, Jaeger Lapointe and Tristyn Bryks.

The Weyburn Red Wings would like to welcome Brendan to the Opportunity City.
