There was just one game in the SJHL Sunday as the Melfort Mustangs travelled to Wilcox to face the Notre Dame Hounds to close out their season-opening home and home series. It would be the Hounds who came out on top, avenging Saturday’s loss, with a 4-0 victory.

Jakob Breault scored twice in the win, as the Hounds picked up all four of their goals on the power play in the game. Jared Hamm and Tanner Tarbell rounded out the scoring for the Hounds.

Milestone’s Nolan Renwick, who many are predicting will be a contender for the CJHL’s Rookie of the Year, picked up an assist in the win.

There are no games in the SJHL Monday, and just one Tuesday. The Weyburn Red Wings return to action Wednesday when they host the Melville Millionaires at Crescent Point Place.

There is a possibility of some suspensions being handed out by the league after Saturday's game between the Estevan Bruins and Melville Millionaires. The teams had a multiple fight situation, with two players being handed double game misconducts. The CJHL supplementary discipline guidelines call for the players who engaged in the second fight to be suspended a minimum of one game apiece. The players facing potential extra discipline are Ryan Heino of the Millionaires and Jake Heerspink of the Bruins.
