Game two in both of the SMAAAHL semi-final series were played Thursday night, and by the time the games were over, both of the series were tied up 1-1.

The Regina Pat Canadians found themselves down 2-0 to the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox, before the Pat C’s rallied back to tie the game up. Weyburn’s Braden Birnie scored in the third period to send the game to overtime.

In the extra frame, though, the Hounds stopped the comeback, as they scored with seven minutes remaining in the overtime period. Drew Englot, captain of the Hounds, picked up an assist on the game-winning goal.

Game three in the series will be played Saturday night in Regina.

In Saskatoon, the Tisdale Trojans were looking to pull even with the Saskatoon Blazers in their best-of-five series.

The Trojans jumped out to a 5-2 lead by the end of the second period, and held on for the 5-4 victory, tying the series up.

Weyburn’s Zac Robins factored on the scoresheet, scoring a goal in the first period.

The third game of the series will be played Friday night in Tisdale.
