Teams from the Weyburn Volleyball Club returning from tournaments on the weekend with fairly good showings.

The U13 Warriors had a strong performance at Sask Cup #2. (photo courtesy Weyburn Volleyball Club/facebook.com)The U13 Warriors were at the Sask Cup #2 in Warman. They opened the tournament going 2-1 in the round robin, then were undefeated in the pool play, sending them to the playoffs in Tier 1.

In the opening of the playoffs, the Warriors were up against Estevan Extreme Thunder, who they beat to advance to the semi-finals against Huskies Volleyball Green. The Warriors fell in the semi-finals, bouncing to the bronze medal game against JCVC Heat

The Warriors would come up just short in the game and ultimately finished in fourth place in the final Sask Cup of the season.

The U14 Warriors were in Regina, where they were playing Sask Cup #3.

In the round robin, the Warriors finished with a record of 4-0. In the crossover game, they beat Toppers En Fuego in three games (25-13, 13-25, 15-10), advancing to the playoff round where they were up against the Red Coat Rebels.

In the first round, the Warriors were topped in two straight (25-17, 25-19), putting Weyburn up against the South Shore Stingers in the next round. The Stingers would come out on top in the game in two straight (25-16, 25-19), putting Weyburn up against BVC Fusion for 7th place overall.

In the final game of the weekend, the Warriors would come out on top, taking 7th place in three games (20-25, 28-26, 15-10).
