The play of the Weyburn Red Wings has garnered some individual awards for players, as the SJHL announced the players of the week Monday morning.

Carson Rose was named Player of the Week. The second year  Red Wing picked up two goals, and added two assists in Sunday night’s 6-4 win over Kindersley to clinch the series. He added a goal and an assist in game two at Crescent Point Place Sunday.

The Goaltender of the Week is Carter Phair. He stopped 99 of the 102 shots he faced over two and a half games. His save percentage of .971 and GAA of 1.20 powered the Wings to the series sweep.

Mike Eskra was named the Defenseman of the Week. In his third year with the Wings, the captain has picked up three assists for the postseason, including one helper in Sunday’s win over Kindersley.

The Rookie of the Week is Justin Ball of the Melfort Mustangs. He picked up a goal and an assist in game two of Melfort’s survivor series with Notre Dame.
