Travis Tokarz and his rink, which curls out of the Sutherland Curling Club in Saskatoon, has qualified for the provincial junior men’s championships, slated for later this year. They qualified for the tournament by finishing with a 4-2 record at the recent qualifier, held at the Callie Club in Regina.

Tokarz, who is originally from Weyburn, skipped his team to a 12-6 win to start the spiel off, and then took their next two games by scores of 11-8 and 12-9.

They suffered their first loss in the A-side final, losing 5-4 to Team Bindig. This dropped them straight to the B-side final, where they would suffer their second loss of the spiel, falling 5-4 to Team Kleiter.

The last chance to automatically advance to the junior championships came in the final draw of the spiel, the C-side final against Team Williamson. There it was no match, as Tokarz won the game 10-2 in five ends.

The Junior Men’s provincial championships will be held in Regina on December 27th-31st, with the games played at the Callie Club in Regina. This is the eighth consecutive year Travis Tokarz has qualified for the tournament.
