The Southeast AAA Twins opened up a quick two-game set with the Swift Current 57's on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Lynne Prime Park in Estevan.

In game one, the Twins got back in the win column with a 5-1 victory over the 57's after dropping their previous six in a row.

"Our rookie pitcher Burke Lyons pitched a great game for us, our bats came alive and we played fairly good defensively," explained Twins Head Coach, Blaine Kovach. "It felt good to get back on that winning train after our losing skid."

"It was nice to see Burke pitch a very good game."

After a victory in game one, the Twins lost a tight one 3-2. As Kovach has talked about in the past, the Twins just weren't able to get the timely hits they've been looking for.

"We lost a tough one, we couldn't get those timely hits to score the runners and it ended up costing us."

Just like they had in game one, pitching was a strong suit for the squad in the close loss.

"Brett MacMurchy pitched a great game as well, he gave up three unearned runs off of an error and that really sealed the deal. The one or two costly errors scored their runs and our baserunners couldn't score."

"Things are back on track a bit and we're feeling better about how things are going. We have one more game to come before a bit of a break in league play," Kovach concluded.

The Twins are in Regina on Wednesday, June 7th for a matchup with the Athletics. Their next game takes place a week from Wednesday when they welcome the Regina White Sox to Lynne Prime Park for one game at 7:00 p.m.
