Another honour for Weyburn goalie Dylan Ernst. After a terrific season for the Weyburn Bantam AA Whitecap Wings, Ernst has been selected as one of the top 2004-born players in Saskatchewan.

Three goalies were named to the team and only two will make the final cuts and join Team Sask at a prospects tournament later this year.

The local netminder just turned 15 in February and finished off his second season with the Whitecap Wings. He was exceptional this year, finishing with 2.99 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. Ernst was also named to the Top 160 and Top 80 roster earlier in the hockey season. He travelled around the province to tournaments with SaskFirst and earned his way into the final 28.

This roster will hold workouts and sessions over the summer before eight final cuts are made. Then, the final 20 remaining kids will head off to the tournament with plenty of scouts and exposure.

Ernst is also expected to go in the upcoming WHL Bantam Draft in May.
