The Weyburn Red Wings scored twice late in the third period, but it wasn't enough as they fell 5-3 to the Battlefords North Stars Saturday night. The loss ends a three-game winning streak for the Wings.

The North Stars jumped out to an early lead in the first before Jordan Kazymyra scored his 10th of the campaign. The rookie was assisted by Cade Kowalski and Garrett Szeremley

The Battlefords then turned in on. Goals from Matthias Urbanski and Dakota Huebner restored the lead and expanded in. The North Stars then made it a 5-1 game in the third, with goals from Urbanski and MacGregor Sinclair.

The Red Wings did put pressure to tie the game up, with Ty Brown and Jessie Young scoring before the end of the game. It wouldn't be enough to finish the comeback, though.

The Red Wings are now tied with Estevan for first in the Viterra Division. They will look to regain sole possession of first Tuesday. They will travel to Wilcox to face the Notre Dame Hounds.
